Mage and Monsters is a simulator of battles that take place automatically. The gamer can only observe the actions of his troops, but at the start of the battle he can still have a significant impact on the course of the battle. Before starting, the user chooses which spells to use, because they can have different effects. Some deal damage to enemy soldiers instantly or periodically in small amounts, or simply buff allies, restore their health, increase speed and damage done.

In Mage and Monsters, the user will have to constantly choose - to discover new spells and upgrade them, or to awaken the army and unlock stronger fighters. To successfully pass, you can balance these 2 parameters or give preference to something. In total, the single-player campaign has 40 levels and is characterized by a gradual increase in difficulty. In addition, after completely completing the base campaign, 9 more challenges are opened to the user.

They have an increased level of difficulty and are suitable for those who have perfectly mastered the basic mechanics and are ready for real tests. There is also an endless playthrough format. The task is to hold out as long as possible, reflecting numerous waves. After the first defeat, the player will be forced to return to the very beginning.
